REGIONAL TRAVEL

Have you registered for Regional Travel 2024?

We’re crossing the province this spring connecting with the front-line ECEs that make up our amazing sector of professionals in Newfoundland and Labrador. Join AECENL for a day of workshops, discussions, updates, hands-on learning, resources and more!

This full day, in-person professional learning event is free for ECEs in the province holding Child Care Services (CCS) Certification (some exceptions apply). Participants will get an opportunity to connect, win prizes, and go home with new resources to support their professional learning journey.

What to Expect

This event will run from 9am-3:30pm and will include:

  • AECENL news and announcements

  • Networking

  • Exploring the role of critical friendships and supports in the workplace

  • Addressing challenging behaviour

  • Learning about outdoor play and working with clay

  • A 5.5 Hour PL (Professional Learning) Certificate

  • A chance to win prizes and more!

Regional Travel will be held at the CNA campuses in Lab City, Grand Falls-Windsor, Corner Brook, and St. John’s. AECENL will contact participants closer to the event with information about room locations and parking.

Photography

AECENL would love to document and share this in-person event and highlight the ECEs working across our province. If you would prefer not to be in any photos shared on our social media platforms or in our newsletter, please let us know in advance.

Nutrition Breaks

We ask that participants bring their own food and drinks to this event. Participants will have a 15-minute break in the morning and an hour-long break for lunch.

Q&A

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about certification, bursaries, grants, membership and more during our live Q&A session with AECENL staff. If you want to submit a question before the event, please email plcoordinator@aecenl.ca with the subject “Regional Travel Questions” and we’ll make sure to include them!

Cancellation Guidelines for In-person Events

Have you registered for Regional Travel and are now unable to attend? Early Childhood Educators are hardworking, busy professionals with personal lives to balance in addition to professional learning goals. Sometimes we can’t do it all!

If you registered and cannot attend, please let AECENL know at least 48 hours in advance so we can offer your space to someone on our waitlist. The more notice, the better! If you have to cancel within 48 hours of the event, we would still appreciate the notice so we can make the necessary adjustments on our end.

No-Shows

To plan a successful day, it’s important to know who’s coming. If you are unable to attend the event at the last minute, please write plcoordinator@aecenl.ca. Registering without attending and providing notice via email to admin@aecenl.ca or plcoordinator@aecenl.ca may mean that the participant cannot hold a seat at the next scheduled in-person event.

Bringing Children to Regional Travel

It is essential for ECEs to have a safe space to talk about the work they do with children, and sometimes that means children should not be present. Children under the age of nine months who are not yet walking are welcome to join their caregiver.

Feedback

Your feedback is important! Each participant will have an opportunity to fill out an exit survey at the end of the day.

Register today by emailing admin@aecenl.ca with:
