Early Childhood Education (ECE)

Trainee Bursary 

 

The ECE Trainee Bursary is designed to support Early Childhood Educators who are working in a licensed child care centre or regulated family child care and are taking Early Childhood Education courses online from a provincially recognized college/university to upgrade their valid Trainee Level Certification to Level One Certification.

The Association of early Childhood Educators Newfoundland and Labrador (AECENL) will provide the ECE Trainee Bursary to those who qualify as per the Department of Education's policies.

How to apply for the ECE Trainee Bursary Program:

  • Print current ECE Trainee Bursary Program Application Form.
  • Complete all required sections of the application form.
  • You and your employer (if applicable) must hand sign the application. Electronic signature is not accepted.
  • Attach the following bank information if this is your first time applying or information has changed:
    • Direct deposit banking form or void cheque
    • TD1 - hand signed (electronic signature NOT acceptable)
    • TD1NL- hand signed (electronic signature NOT acceptable)
    • Copy of social insurance number (SIN) or confirmation of temporary SIN expiration date (if applicable)
  • A copy of your original transcript is required EVERY time you are applying.
  • Applications and the required documentation must be submitted for reimbursement in the quarter for which the course(s) were completed or the subsequent quarter.
  • Applications can be submitted via regular mail, couriered, dropped off or emailed.
  • If emailing the application, please send it to: ecebursary@aecenl.ca.

 

How to email the application:

  • Only eligible PDF scanned applications will be accepted. Photos (e.g.: .jpg) are not acceptable as they are unable to produce legible copies.
  • Put your name (first and last) and ECE Trainee Bursary Application in the subject line of the e-mail before sending.
  • Retain a copy of the original e-mail for your record, in the event it is requested to be resubmitted again.​​​​​​
