News from the ECE Human Resource Council (NL)
The Early Childhood Educators Human Resource Council (ECEHR Council) is pleased to invite licensees and operators to a Human Resources Management Workshop. This workshop with funding support from Child, Youth and Family services will be piloted in Gander and St. John’s. This workshop will be held in Gander (October 28 – 29, 2011) and in St. John’s (November 4 – 5, 2011). This workshop will be delivered by Don Gallant and Associates and will present material as contained in the recently developed manual entitledAn Introductory Guide to Human Resources Management in Licensed Child Care. The manual is intended to be a tool for licensees and operators to assist in their human resource management role. Attendance at this workshop will give licensees and operators a more in-depth understanding of many of the concepts and principles contained in the manual, and its use and application within centres. Registration is limited so please register early. The deadline for registration is October 7, 2011.
The ECEHR Council is very excited about the launch of this new resource for licensees and operators and with our ability to offer these workshop sessions. We believe the manual and the workshop will provide licensees and operators with practical and useful skills as related to recruitment and retention, the creation of welcoming and inclusive workplaces, and ultimately the provision of the best quality child care possible.
