You Bet We Still Care! CHHRSC Survey
We need your input - the "You Bet We Still Care!" survey is coming in May. The Child Care Human Resources Sector Council is sponsoring a survey of employers (including administrators, owners, directors, and supervisors) and employees (including ECEs and program staff) working in regulated, full-day, centre-based programs. The survey - "You Bet We Still Care!" - will be released at the end of May. Learn more about the survey here. http://bit.ly/IECa2R
These types of surveys rarely come along. Responding to the survey will help to raise the profile of the ECEC profession and workforce. As a thank-you for participating, you can enter your name in a draw to win an iPad! For more information on the project and to receive e-mail notification when the survey is live, please visit the CCHRSC website to sign-up for the CHHRSC's newsletter at www.ccsc-cssge.ca

News from the ECE Human Resource Council (NL)

The Early Childhood Educators Human Resource Council (ECEHR Council) is pleased to invite licensees and operators to a Human Resources Management Workshop. This workshop with funding support from Child, Youth and Family services will be piloted in Gander and St. John’s. This workshop will be held in Gander (October 28 – 29, 2011) and in St. John’s (November 4 – 5, 2011). This workshop will be delivered by Don Gallant and Associates and will present material as contained in the recently developed manual entitledAn Introductory Guide to Human Resources Management in Licensed Child Care. The manual is intended to be a tool for licensees and operators to assist in their human resource management role. Attendance at this workshop will give licensees and operators a more in-depth understanding of many of the concepts and principles contained in the manual, and its use and application within centres. Registration is limited so please register early. The deadline for registration is October 7, 2011.
The ECEHR Council is very excited about the launch of this new resource for licensees and operators and with our ability to offer these workshop sessions. We believe the manual and the workshop will provide licensees and operators with practical and useful skills as related to recruitment and retention, the creation of welcoming and inclusive workplaces, and ultimately the provision of the best quality child care possible.
